Aussi-Nexus Group respects the rights of copyright owners. This page explains how to notify us of suspected infringement. It is written to be consistent with the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) and the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. §512).
What we can and cannot do
Nexus Audiobook does not store or publish books. Content is processed in temporary memory for the person who added it and is then discarded, so there is normally no stored copy for us to remove. What we can do is end a session, block an account, block a web address from being fetched, and prevent repeat misuse.
How to send a notice
Email aussienexusgroup@gmail.com with the subject "Copyright notice" and include:
- Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
- A description of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed, and proof or details of your ownership or authority to act for the owner.
- Where the use occurred: the web address of the page or file that was added, the time, and the account email if you know it.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
What happens next
We aim to review valid notices within 5 business days. We may end the related session, block the address or account, and tell the affected user. A user who believes a notice was made by mistake may send us a counter-notice with their contact details and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the content was removed or blocked by mistake; we may then reinstate access unless you tell us you have started legal action.
Repeat infringers
Accounts that repeatedly misuse the service to infringe copyright will be closed.
False notices
Knowingly sending a false notice may expose you to liability for damages. If you are unsure whether something infringes, consider getting legal advice first.
